Leduc Christmas Extravaganza 2013 Review

I have heard some great reports about this event in the past, so I signed up for it this year. I had to get my application in during the summer.  In its 2nd year under new management it was striving to reach past heights of success.  It was held at its traditional location, Christ the King Junior Senior High School on November 2nd. The event went well but, from what other vendors were saying, the attendance was not as good as last year. I don't think the afternoon snowfall (first one of the year) helped motivate shoppers to get out and start their Christmas shopping.  My experience was favourable.  I met some very nice vendors and shoppers.  There was a great selection of high quality products.  From a vendor's perspective it was worth our time and effort.

Adding new jewelry products as I mentioned earlier. 3 more earring pairs plus a necklace and earring set.  Each week I'll be adding more as I have quite a large inventory of product that is already made. Of course, with the fall season here, I will be making new pieces as well....

It's been a few years now since I first signed up and posted a few products at Etsy.  I thought I'd make it work this time, as I enjoy making jewelry and photographing it as well.  It was always my goal to have an online store.

The marketing piece has been a bit of a stumbling block in the past, but this time I'll use some Etsy advertising options and social media to create more exposure.

Etsy is a marketplace made up of a community of artisans who show and sell their handmade products from this venue.  I have 8 items posted now, mostly necklace and earring sets. Lots more product, especially earrings, to photograph and post so keep checking in.  http://www.etsy.ca/shop/RadiantRays

Pleasantview Community Swap Meet Social

I was very pleased to attend the Swap Meet at Pleasantview Community League where I socialized with my neighbours and met some new ones as well. There was something for everyone.  People picked up some great items from the swap. The children had special activities in the Marshall Hall next door and there was local music talent after supper, while the adults sipped wine and ate dessert.

I received some great feedback and support for my jewelry designs with Radiant Rays and I look forward to attending again in the fall.

Ladies Night Out at Pleasantview Community League

Well it was a great time at the Ladies Night Out evening at Pleasantview Community League on Sat. Jan. 12th from 7 to 10 pm.

I saw numerous neighbours from my street, since I live in Pleasantview, and I even met some people that I knew from way back -- a student that I taught in a kindergarten 1 half day/wk program and at least 10 years ago, and a physiotherapist I knew from 20 years ago. It surprised me that I recognized her and remembered her name.

The atmosphere was friendly with a party mood vibe as ladies drank their glass of champagne and participated in a mixer bingo game. People still browsed through the vendor tables.  The best part was that my neighbour won the draw prize I put in, and the scarf/shawl colours with necklace were perfect for her.

I hear there is a Swap Day coming up in April.....expect I'll be there as a vendor.
